It is believed a house was also damaged as a result of the crash which happened last night.

Emergency services were called to Blackburn Road, Egerton,  just after 11pm on Monday (26th August).

The cars were parked in the forecourt of Egerton Cars on Blackburn Road when a vehicle crashed into the boundary wall and hit a number of parked cars and, it understood, took out a bus stop in the smash.

In total  around six cars on the forecourt were damaged as a result of the crash.

Although no serious injuries were reported, the damage of the vehicles is estimated to be more than £50,000.

Owner of Egerton Cars, Richard Hughes said: “This is a massive interruption on my business. “The wheel of the moving car actually came off and ended up causing damage to one of the houses on the main road about fifty yards away.

“The pub over the road was open at the time of the collision and I was told that everyone heard a loud bang, no one knew what had happened.”

The cause of the crash is not known and is subject to an investigation.

But there have been a number of crashes on the road which has prompted concerns about driving issues on the road.

Mr Hughes said: “We see people coming up to 70 mph on this junction, something needs to be done to ensure that drivers are being responsible.

“I’m just grateful that no one was seriously injured. There’s a primary school over the road that’s filled with children, parents and grandparents in the afternoons and if this collision had occurred just a couple of hours earlier someone could’ve been killed.

“The incident even took the bus stop out. It’s chaotic.”

“The damaged cars were all expensive makes like Mini, Jaguar and BMW and we aren’t even sure whether they’ll be written off now because of their extensive damage”

Richard adds that of the cars was in the process of being sold and a deposit had been put down from a potential buyer.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At shortly before 11.30pm on Monday (August 26) one fire engine from Bolton North Fire Station attended a crash involving one car and four parked cars on Blackburn Road, Egerton.

“Firefighters worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the vehicles and surrounding area safe and were in attendance for around 40 minutes.”
